Buda, Texas – September 22, 2025 – RacFit is proud to announce the hiring of Jake Rother as its new Head Tennis Professional and High Performance (HP) Director. With more than a decade of coaching experience across universities, academies, and elite tennis programs nationwide, Jake brings a wealth of expertise in player development, program leadership, and community engagement.
In his new role at RacFit, Jake will lead clinics and organize programming for both juniors and adults while building and directing RacFit’s High Performance Program for advanced junior players. He will also play a key role in recruiting and mentoring staff, supporting club-wide events, and representing RacFit within the community.
Jake’s career includes coaching roles at the Austin Tennis Academy, Barnes Tennis Center, Harvard University, Montana State University, and St. Mary’s University, among others. He has trained nationally ranked juniors, NCAA athletes, and even professional players, including former WTA Top 10 Coco Vandeweghe, Junior US Open Champion Katherine Hui, and Quad Wheelchair World #1 David Wagner.
A native Texan, Jake competed at the highest levels of collegiate tennis, earning 1st Team All-American honors in singles and doubles, capturing an NJCAA National Championship, and competing for both Indiana University and the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he was part of a Conference USA Championship team.
“Jake’s proven track record of developing players, building programs, and fostering a high-energy culture makes him an outstanding fit for RacFit,” said Michael MacVay, Managing Member of RacFit. “He will be instrumental in launching and growing our tennis and high-performance offerings as we open our doors later this year.”

Jake will officially begin his role as RacFit prepares to open its facility in Buda, Texas, in Fall 2025.
